Children can learn anything and everything! If you show your baby several Flash Cards your child will learn how to read. Children of any age want to learn if you show them cards at the right time of day, when in the right frame of mind.

The parent or carer should show the flash cards quickly, use a soothing tone, and encourage and praise the child when the presentation is complete.

Showing flash cards to your child

1. Prepare the cards before you commence the session. (children get board if you fumble). Print words on an A3 or A4 card (insert link to words). I bought mine at Office Works for about $10 AUD per 100 cards.
2. Words and images should be of considerable size, clear and specific (at least 5-6 cm high)
3. Flash cards swiftly, one per second if possible (I sometimes show mine to my son on the computer using power point slideshow).
4. Hold the cards about 30 cm away from the child at the eye level.
5. Sessions should be short and snappy (a few seconds to a few minutes maximum).
6. Always stop before the child loses concentration.

It doesn't take long
