Foreign Languages Babies and young children are
capable of learning one or multiple foreign languages.
According to the experts it is as easy for them as riding a
bike. Exposure to non native languages in early life lays
down the foundation for fluency in later life and also
accelerates brain development in the child.
When a language
is offered to a child the sounds and accents are stored into
the child’s mind. Research indicates that learning a second language at a
young age helps your child to improve their native language
and other academic subjects. The first three years of life
are critical to developing the intellectual potential.
Teaching a foreign language to your child
Teaching your baby, toddler or child to be Bilingual or
Multilingual should be both simple and enjoyable. It is
crucial is to present the materia in an energetic, enjoyable
manner- e.g.
dancing to music, play a DVD or video, show them
flashcards.
You don’t have to know a foreign language to teach your
child. Start a home library containing a mix of
materials (e.g. DVD’s, videos, books or CDs) as these
